Internment Chapter 18- It’s Time for a Change
Disclaimer: I don’t own Supernatural or the Were-Hunters. Eric Kripke owns Supernatural and Sherrilyn Kenyon owns the Were-Hunters. If I did own either, I’d be rich and happy. And I wouldn’t be writing stories about them, either! Rated M for gore, fights, language, and other stuff. :D
‘Aixa’s talking and Griffin’s projected thoughts and flashbacks’
“talking”
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
‘Griffin.’ When Griffin heard his name whispered to him, he instantly woke up with a gun pointed at the one saying his name.
‘Whoa, Griffin! I couldn’t sleep and you’re the only one I can talk to out of the group.’ Aixa explained while Griffin stowed his gun back under his pillow again.
“Oh. Okay. Sorry, girl. Didn’t mean to scare you, Aixa.” Griffin said sleepily. Aixa nodded her furry head, then got up onto his bed.
“How did you get in here, anyway? I thought you were with Ava and Stasia.”
‘Like I said, I couldn’t sleep. I woke Ava up and she let me out to pee. Which I did do, by the way. I didn’t want to disturb them even though I know Stasia doesn’t really sleep. I scratched at your door and your dad opened the door. He’s sleeping. Never really seen an angel sleep before.’ Aixa explained. Griffin nodded at her explanation.
Then, “Okay. Yeah, angels tend to not sleep, but my dad is an acception because of his witness protection issue. He doesn’t like it, but his body is so used to it that he does it anyways.” Griffin told the wolf, now more awake than before.
‘Okay. That explains things. I know humans need sleep; hell, I do, too. You and your brother are hybrids, so I know you guys need sleep, too. I’m sorry for waking you, Griffin.’
“You’re fine, Aixa! I wanted to have a better conversation with you anyways. I don’t really get to talk to regular old wolves all too much. I’m glad you’re here.”
Aixa blushed, then said, ‘Why, thank you, Griff. I don’t get to talk to many humans or other supernatural beings; most likely due to me being a regular old wolf. It’s nice to be able to talk to a human. No offense. You smell human, but I know you’re a wolf, too. I don’t know why, but I think I’ve always been tamer than other wolves because I was dropped off at a random house when I was six months old. Ava said she was 21 years old when she heard scratching at her front door. When she go to the door, there was a wolf puppy there and she’s taken care of me ever since. I never listen to the wilder wolves because I’m still wild, to a point at least, but I don’t care. Ava is my mother and sister. She is also my pack mate and I’d die for her. We’ve been together for four years.’ Aixa said, in a canine’s version of tears.
“I understand, Aixa. It’s the same way for me and my family. Even though my dad left and my twin went dark side, I’d still die for them. I couldn’t live without them, to tell the truth. Well, I would, but I probably couldn’t function without them.” Both Aixa and Griffin were in tears. What they didn’t realize was that Gabriel was actually awake and had used a spell to know what his son and the only wolf were talking about. As he listened to them, tears were brought to his eyes, too. Gabriel hadn’t really believed Griffin’s words of love and protection until that moment.
“You know, dad, that I don’t like eavesdroppers. Why’d you pretend to be asleep?” Griffin demanded of his father.
Gabriel turned over, then said, “I know, son. I’m sorry. I just wanted to hear what you were talking about. And yes, I used a spell to know what Aixa was saying.” The last sentence was in response to Griffin and Aixa’s confused looks.
Sighing, Aixa said, ‘Well. That’s awkward. I should probably go.’ Both men shouted, “NO!”
She looked confused again, so Gabriel explained, “I’ll stop eavesdropping and try to fall asleep for real this time. I’m very sorry for upsetting you and interrupting your conversation. If you want, I can step out for a while.” Aixa and Griffin looked at each other, then nodded at Gabriel’s last statement. Gabriel nodded back at them, gathered some weapons, then left Griffin and Aixa to their conversation.
After he left, Aixa asked, ‘So, where were we?’
“Don’t remember. We could keep talking, watch TV, or go back to sleep. It’s your choice.”
Aixa thought about it, then made her choice by replying with, ‘Let’s watch TV.’ Griffin nodded, then turned the TV on to Animal Planet. As the two were watching TV, both beings felt themselves getting sleepy.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Two hours later
Walking back into the room he shared with Griffin, Gabriel silently ‘awwwed’ at how his son and Aixa were curled up around each other, fast asleep. As quietly as he could, Gabriel went about his business and tucked both Griffin and Aixa in before finally turning in again. After that, all was quiet… or so it seemed.

(AN: Yes, I know! Another cliffy! Sorry! And sorry this chapter’s so short. I had major writer’s block for a while, so I had motive. And school and life have been kicking me in the ass. Work, too. I can’t believe how long it’s been since I’ve written last. First, I had my other flash drive stolen, I’ve had to retype everything, and life has now had a hold on me for a while. Please don’t hate me! Chapter 19 will be coming, but probably not for a while. Thing is, people aren’t reviewing this story as much as I’d like them to. They might be reading it, but they’re not giving me their feedback on it. Which is another reason why this story isn’t going along faster. Please, please leave me a review. It’ll really make my day! Until next time, peeps! Later!)
Here's the next installment for my story, Internment!
